Christian Values
"Encourage one another and build
each other up." 1 Thessalonians 5.11
Ysgol St George is a Church in Wales Voluntary Controlled
School. We have a Christian ethos which underpins
everything we do. Collective Worship takes place every
day. We come together on Monday mornings and Thursday
and Friday afternoons, we also hold class collective
worship on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On the final Friday
of every month, we have a church service in St George’s
Church. This service is led by the children and parents and
families are invited to attend. We have tea and coffee in
the church crypt afterwards. We believe RVE and
Spirituality is part of a broader process of education which
helps children to make sense of the world and how they
relate to it.
We aim to:
•
Create, within a Christian setting, a secure and vibrant
learning environment where everyone feels included
and has the opportunity to shine.
•
Create an atmosphere where standards of teaching and
learning are constantly in view and transparent.
•
Provide an environment where all members of our
community are challenged and given the chance to
grow and thrive.
•
Ensure that everybody is aware of how they learn best,
how to improve and apply their skills to new situations.
•
Give opportunities to teach and learn positive Christian
and human values that will shape them for life.
•
Be at the heart of the community, working in
partnership to provide an inspiring and motivating
learning experience for all.
•
Celebrate every achievement and demonstrate a pride
in ourselves, each other and our school.

"Ysgol St George builds a child's confidence and self-
esteem, bringing them out of their shell and introducing
them to new and exciting things each day. That just shows
how they build each other up and encourage each child to
keep going, do your best, and be the best version of
themselves."
"I see and hear a lot about the encouragement that is given
to the children from the staff, and the encouragement that
is given from the children to each other."
"I think what is great about Ysgol St George is it's a small
enough school that there is a "family feeling" to it. A close
community feeling. I think it's possible to have each
student (and teacher) encourage one another and build
each other up."
