Attendance“Coming to school is very important!”It is essential that your child attends school each day and arrives on time. Every day of absence has an impact on your child’s education. Research shows that there is a direct correlation between low school attendance and pupil under-achievement. Please ensure that you inform us as soon as possible, via phone call or email, if your child is going to be absent from school. Don’t be offended if we contact you for a reason for your child’s absence – it is our duty to do so. In the event of your child being persistently late or absent with no reasonable explanation, our Attendance Officer Helen Taylor will be informed. For permission to leave school premises during the school day, (eg: to attend an appointment), please email or phone school.Holiday RequestsIn line with Welsh Government and county guidance, the school does not support holidays in school time. If a holiday MUST be taken in school time an application must be completed in advance and will only be authorised, for up to 10 days in an academic year, if the child’s attendance is above 94%. Unauthorised holidays are recorded as unauthorised absences, which may result in prosecution. Holiday request forms are available from the school office.Breakfast ClubBreakfast Club is available free of charge for all full-time pupils. Parents who wish to make use of this service must complete a booking form for each child. This form is emailed to parents each week. Breakfast Club opens at 8.00am and there is no entry after 8.20am.
